SEPTEMBER 2ND HOLIDAY: COMING TO SA PA FOR FIREWORKS AND HORSE RACING

A series of jubilant events and activities is organized, making Sa Pa the most attractive destination in the North during the September 2 holiday season this year.

Sa Pa will fire low-level fireworks and organize the second “Horse-hooves in the clouds” race at the Sun World Fansipan Legend resort from August 31 to September 2 to celebrate the 74th Independence Day.

Perhaps there is barely an independence day that people and tourists to Sapa will enjoy, sharing the joy of Independence Day with many unique events like that. From August 31 to September 2, in the city in the fog, countless events will simultaneously take place. And the most interesting destination is the famous tourist area of Sapa – Sun World Fansipan Legend.

Watching the fireworks, watching horse racing

In the evening of August 31 and September 1, brilliant low-level fireworks will be performed at the Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area (No. 89B, Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Sa Pa Town). Firework time is from 21h00 to 21h15. It is known that the funding for fireworks is entirely from socialization, guaranteed by Fansipan Sa Pa Cable Car Services & Tourism Limited Liability Company.

Fireworks will light Sapa in the night, giving people and visitors joyful moments of independence day. In particular, on this occasion, from the roof of Indochina, visitors can admire the paintings by fireworks in the sky of Sapa and watch the town shimmering in the night light. The scene of the spiritual works atop Fansipan is as magical as the Buddha land at night, and it is also a masterpiece that maybe even though many times come here, visitors must not have had the opportunity to admire. Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area will operate the cable car from 6 am to 9 pm, so visitors can watch the fireworks from the peak of 3,143m and enjoy a Fansipan in the beautiful night like the galaxy.

Besides fireworks, during the 3 days from August 31 to September 2, during the hours of 9am to 11pm, Sun World Fansipan Legend is also radiant with the “Horse-hooves in the clouds” race held at the entrance of cable car departure station.

After the success of the first “Horse hooves in the clouds” in June 2019, the 2nd race promises to be much more attractive. In addition to the 16 best “riders” from Bac Ha horse race, This “Horse hooves in the clouds” this time also has the presence of 6 “stallions” known as the most beautiful in the Northwest.

His horses and jockeys will compete on the 1,400 m long track. Every day, 3 winning horses will receive valuable prizes including: 1 first prize worth VND 3 million, 1 second prize worth VND 2 million, 1 third prize worth VND 1 million.

A special feature of highland horse racing is that horses are daily packhorses and jockeys are also very “special”, they are farmers of ethnic groups of Mong, Tay, Nung… who go to the field with their pack horses everyday. Horses do not have saddles, no pedals and jockeys do not use whips but their own hands and feet… with their ingenuity to control and lead the horses to the finish line. Chivalry, excellent horse-riding skills are only found in the Northwest highland people… and especially a very romantic race track decorated by nearly 50,000 colorful roses stems of all kind, will make the second “Horse hooves in the clouds” race impressive in every moment.

In addition to the hot competition of the “jockeys” and the highland racing horses, The second “Horse hooves in the clouds” race also brings visitors many unique side activities. Check-in with the most beautiful horses in the Northwest, try horseback racing around the road filled with roses, immerse in the Northwest’s lyrics, songs and dances by the artists of the Ethnic Art Troupe of Lao Cai Province, those experiences are enough to make your legs unable to stand still anymore.

Experience a true Northwest

At this time, many other festive and performing activities also took place at the same time at Sun World Fansipan Legend. A Northwest Food Festival 2019 has just opened on August 13 and is still at its most exciting time. Taking place right at the entrance of departure station, in the upland market area, visitors coming to the Festival are likely to be lost in a miniature Northwest, full of attractive indigenous colors.

Colorful dresses, pan-pipes, highland markets are packed into the show every Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. Traditional Dao wedding is vividly recreated. The highland specialties prepared by the people from the amazing villages such as chinese sausage, sticky rice, smoked buffalo… The charming Northwest is right in front of our eyes without going to the far villages.

Attending the Northwest Food Festival, visitors can also manually make rice-cake, make green rice flakes, steamed glutinous rice… and dance in upland rhythms with village girls and boys or have fun playing folk games of the ethnic minorities like pushing sticks, going on rope bridge, jumping on stilts, walking on stilts… Come to Sapa and you do not want to go home.

Furthermore, that miraculous Northwestern quality makes us want our holiday to be longer, so that every day we can see the special show Dance in the Clouds. Music melodies from alpipes, lip pan-pipes, the love story of Do and Quyen, dances by the looms and a mysterious, magical space bring a familiar, strange Northwest that is lively but very quiet, full of meditation. “Dance in the clouds” takes viewers on a journey in a close but magical world.

In September, the terraced fields in Muong Hoa valley have also begun to ripen. The yellowish-green color that not only made photographers crazy, but also made the most silent guys suddenly say nice words. And watching those beautiful golden rice fields from Fansipan cable car has been an experience that every Northwest lover has to get back to find each year.

Sa Pa jubilantly celebrates during the National Independence Day. The Northwest is breathtakingly beautiful in the ripe rice season, and Sun World Fansipan Legend constantly brings experiences that can’t be found anywhere. So isn’t Sa Pa the most memorable destination on this September 2 holiday?
